As a whole, even mere years after the Transcendence, “Alcor” is known far and wide as quite possibly the most powerful and dangerous entity in existence.įrom 12 to around 16, Dipper’s attire heavily reflected Bill’s influence on him.
(Though he does slowly get the reputation for having a soft spot for children) As a demon, he inherently knows what his summoning circle looks like, and this quickly becomes widespread information. He’s frequently summoned by all kinds of people from innocent and well-meaning, to the ignorant, to the greedy and ill-intended. Just a year or two after the Transcendence, he even begins forging contracts, as demons are famous for. His reputation as Alcor (his demon alias - as true names can be used against beings of power) goes through a few distinct stages through the years. (It’s also worthy to note here that demons are incompatible with any other species, so Dipper wouldn’t be able to have kids with anyone besides another demon… which he very much does not want to do) Mabel’s “true” family line is re-established whenever a child is born in the family tree and named specifically after the previous “Mabel”. Thankfully, due to the link he shared with Mabel, her lineage can continue to see him and are inexplicably drawn to him in various ways.
If he was to isolate himself completely, he could descent into madness and become like Bill (or worse) very, very quickly. Friends and family are deeply important to him, not just because immortality can become incredibly lonely, but because ties with humans are what keeps reminding him of who he is. The amount of time he can spend in his physical body increases at a rapid rate over time - and in a hundred years or so, he’d be fully able to control it at will regardless of energy.īeing immortal, Dipper isn’t actively interested in relationships past anything platonic. Summoning, sacrifices, contracts, and natural energy surges can allow him to stay in the physical realm for longer periods. He’s able to pop into a corporeal form at will with a great amount of energy, but usually only for minutes at a time at first. However, unlike Bill (whom his power was derived from) he has an unnaturally strong connection to the physical realm since he was originally human. Oh yeah, and one other thing: Dipper is stuck in the Mindscape (for the most part), and only Mabel can see and hear him at any time. He sticks around Mabel and her family considering the bond they share, and in their younger years, actually uses his powers to investigate supernatural happenings. They still love him, but because of their obvious hesitation around him (he doesn’t blame him, not when his eyes are bright gold on pitch black and his voice echoes darkly even when he whispers), Dipper and Mabel choose to move back to Gravity Falls to finish up high school in their late teens.ĭespite having lapses in his humanity, he’s able to stay himself for the most part. Since a chunk of Bill’s energy fused with him (he is still only one person however), he has a few morbid fascinations and unnerving habits ( like eating souls ) that are far more demon than human - as well as a more powerful, less human form.īecause of this, and his volatility, some of his relationships have deteriorated - including that of his parents.
